Formalize major parts of Executive Orders JBE2016-26 and JBE2016-73, which made changes to Louisiana’s Industrial Tax Exemption Program, that has allowed corporations to avoid BILLIONS of dollars of tax responsibility. BILLIONS of dollars intended to fund first responders, water and sewage projects, infrastructure, and educational opportunities to Louisiana citizens.  Executive Orders JBE2016-26 and JBE2016-73 made substantive changes to the program which should be written in law--including a further reduction in the maximum avoidance amount from 80% to 40%.

Increase the Earned Income Tax Credit for workers from 5% to 10% of the federal amount to lower the tax burden on Louisiana’s workers and  families.
