True energy independence comes from never having to drill, never having to incur the cost and environmental risk of transport, people can generate energy from their homes for their homes. Diversification of our energy economy will also assure people that they can work and live even when oil prices are down.

• Help Louisiana workers who are most affected  by downturns in the oil market by leveraging LUS, UL PARTS Lab , College of Engineering and SLCC, etc. to train workers for the manufacture and maintenance of solar, wind and nuclear energy generation. Deregulate the alternative fuels and solar industries for true innovation and more importantly diversification; we are literally in the Sun Belt and missing huge opportunities to be a leader in new industries.
